The BMN is, for the moment, an injection device - a fine hollow needle topped with a small deformable polymer reservoir. It does not contain any products. It can be deformed with two fingers. Sterilized by gamma rays, it has no piston and is disposable. Presented in packs of eight BMNs, the pack is sterilized and comes in a blister.. Twelve blisters are packaged together which represents the unit of sale for the BMN. The extemporaneous filling is carried out in the consulting room by releasing finger & thumb pressure exerted on the reservoir, with the needle immersed in the liquid of a drug ampule (the top of which was snapped-off beforehand).
